FT-8 seems to be a very popular low power mode for HF operations. I plan on trying it soon.

You can download the software for a mac at https://www.machamradio.com/blog/category/wsjt-x/ or a window platform at https://physics.princeton.edu/pulsar/k1jt/wsjtx.html

In the video he was using at Stepper Crank IR for portable operations. It gets a 4.8 out of 5 one eham.net reviews.

Basic Unit: Standard antenna covering 40m-2m; includes Main Box, 16′ Telescopic Pole; Tensioner; Carry Bag

There are plenty of good youtube videos on FT-8.
